We like to call equity crowdfunding, community capital, for the simple reason that businesses are able to raise capital from the community. These communities are built of customers, online followers, suppliers, vendors, partners, friends, family, or acquaintances that businesses have made over the years. Since launching as Canada’s first equity crowdfunding platform, we’ve helped companies raise over $200 million dollars across 150 campaigns from these very communities.

This holiday season, we want to create even more impact with our ‘Capital for the Community’ initiative. Our collective wish this year is to empower investors like you across the country to triple the impact through a simple yet powerful gesture. You can triple your impact by:

  1. Investing for the future
  2. Supporting an amazing local company
  3. Contributing to a good cause

Starting December 1st, FrontFundr will be running a campaign for the 15 Days of Christmas. For all investments made in our community campaigns, we will make a donation to Covenant House this holiday season.

Introducing our 2% holiday giveback campaign

Our 2% holiday giveback campaign will support Covenant House. As an example, for every $1,000 invested in eligible companies on our platform, FrontFundr will be making a $20 donation. You might be wondering what this means for your investment - your investment will still go 100% to the company you’re investing in as it always has.

The difference between making an investment on November 30th and December 1st is that FrontFundr will now be making a donation that’s equal to 2% of the value of your investment. The great news is that the more support we receive through investments in our campaigns, the more we will be donating to Covenant House.

Where our donation will be going

This year, we will be supporting Covenant House. As many as 40,000 young people experience homelessness in Canada every year. Covenant House Vancouver is committed to serve all youth with relentless support, absolute respect, and unconditional love; to help youth experiencing homelessness; and to protect and safeguard all youth in need. They have over 25 years of experience supporting youth experiencing homelessness in an inclusive and respectful environment. Covenant is doing amazing work and we are proud to be supporting them this holiday season.

How we’ll be sharing about the initiative

In honour of the 15 Days of Christmas, we’ll be shining a light on our issuers for the 15 Days of Christmas. Each day from December 1st until December 15th, we’ll be spotlighting a different company on the FrontFundr platform. Keep an eye on campaign closing dates as some companies may be ending their FrontFundr raise before the 15 Days of Christmas is over.

To ensure we’re able to make an impact before the holiday season, we plan to make our donation prior to December 22nd. We’ll be sure to share with all of you exactly how much was invested in our amazing businesses and how much was donated to Covenant House all thanks to your support.

We are a community. We’ve always said that FrontFundr is a bridge connecting entrepreneurs and investors to drive greater economic impact and positive innovation. But we could not play our role within the startup ecosystem without you - the amazing visionaries who are building their own businesses and the passionate investors who are supporting the companies they believe in. So thank you. Thank you for being a pioneer in the private capital markets. Thank you for being bold when others may not understand it. Thank you for being a part of our community.

If there’s a company you’re thinking about investing in on FrontFundr, make your investment this December and support a great cause in the process. Why wait until the New Year to start achieving your 2024 financial goals?

Wishing you and your family, a Happy Holidays from your friends at FrontFundr!
