The TSS Rovers Football Club story is one of activating its existing fanbase. As a result the majority of its fundraise and share sale has been from net new FrontFundr users who were making its first investment in a raise. Most impotantly is the intent of these fans. Most do not intend to make a financial return necessarily. They want to support and fund the vision.
Rovers’ purpose driven national philosophy, hyper localized strategy, and its existing fanbase propelled TSS Rovers Football Club to break barriers, realize a national first of its kind dream and to ultimately fund its ambition to build a platform for Canadians soccer players. The key to the success of Rovers Football Club was activating its existing supporter base through multiple engagement initiatives. These initiatives consisted of:
1. An exciting and consistent email marketing campaign;
2. Exceptional word of mouth advertising through the coaching network, supporters’ trust, and players;
3. Onsite guerrilla marketing at its stadium through the use of banners, announcements during games, and
4. additional print materials;
A consistent social campaign with amplification through the supporters’ trust.During their campaign the team also became the inaugural champions of the League 1 BC Men’s Division adding additional promotion, validation of their mission, and extra excitement to convert existing pledges.
A community driven mission, consistent multi-channel messaging, and a major validation event allowed TSS Rovers to break barriers and accomplish a first in Canadian history.
